We have produced a map of our location compared to central London's major tourist attractions.

Directions on how to get to us: (Also see transport below)

1. From Paddington Rail Station: Turn left towards Praed St. When at traffic lights turn left into Praed St. Then turn right at the the road with  Burger King on the corner to London Street and take the second road on your left. AA Falcon is 100 yards on your right. [Warning: if you have spent more than 2 minutes walking you are lost and you should ask directions to Norfolk Square!]

2. From Paddington Underground Station: The underground has two exits on Praed St. When you get to street level look for Hilton Paddington. It is a large 1800s building in white stone. If Hilton is on your right you need to turn left towards Burger King. If Hilton is in front of you on the other side of the road then turn right towards traffic lights looking for a Burger King on the corner of London Street. Once you are in London street take the second left turn and you will be in Norfolk Square. We are the 5th building along on the right. [Warning: if you have spent more than 2 minutes walking you are lost and you should ask directions to Norfolk Square!]

Important: Do not get a taxi from Paddington station to our hotel. We are really only a few minutes walk from the station! We have had horror stories of taxis charging our guests ?0 by taking them around London for 45 minutes (in one case we managed to locate the taxi driver by his number and recouped the money...hope he is reading this!). If you have lots of luggage or have walking difficulty tell the taxi driver we are round the corner off London Street not more than 1 minute drive. If you are unhappy with the charge get a receipt and the cab number, displayed on a white plate inside and outside the taxi, so you can file a complaint and get your money back.

Train Station: Liverpool Street Station - Once at Liverpool St. change to Circle line underground anti-clockwise which brings you to Paddington in about 20 minutes.

Duration: 42 minutes

Service: Every 30 minutes from 05:00 to 10:00 & from 17:00 to 23:00, every 15 minutes from 10:00 to 17:00

By Bus:

Connects Stansted Airport with London Victoria - Central London via Golders Green, Finchley Road Underground Station, St Johns Wood, Baker Street, Marble Arch and Hyde Park Corner.  Operates up to every 20 minutes - 24 hours a day. Luton Airport   By Thameslink

Train Station:King's Cross

Duration:35 minutes, but you need to take a shuttle bus from the station to the airport, total journey time about 45 minutes. The train brings you to Kings Cross Station in London, From there you change to Underground/Metro. You need the circle line (yellow colour) anti-clockwise and Paddington is a few stops away. Total journey time from Luton to Falcon Hotel is just over an hour.

City Airport

by shuttle bus from Liverpool Street Station

Duration:30 minutes

Service: Every 10 minutes from 06:15 am to 21:00

BUSES: Bus routes serving Paddington : 36, 36A, 7, 15, 23, 27, 12, 94, 205, 436. You can use any of the above buses to go to Buckingham Palace, Houses of Parliament, Leicester Square, London Tower, Madame Tussaude, British Museum etc. There are also open top hop-on hop-off tourist buses just 30 meters from our hotel which are a great way to explore London.

UNDERGROUND: Paddington Station for Circle Line, District, Bakerloo, Hammersmith & City lines (2 minutes walk). Lancaster Gate Station for Central Line (4 minutes by feet)

BRITISH RAIL (Over-ground Trains/ Mainline): Paddington Railway Station serves Wales and West Country. Direct train to Oxford, Bristol, Cardiff, Devon, Cornwall. The Paddington Railway Station is only two minutes walking distance from the Shakespeare Hotel.

BY ROAD: M 40, M 4 or by Edgware Road, Turn left to Sussex Gardens, Turn right to Norfolk place.

PARKING: Being a City hotel, we regret, we do not have parking space. For short term parking (less than 4 hours), we recommend parking in metered bay just outside of the hotel which cost ?.40 an hour but free from 6:30pm to 8:30am and weekends/public holiday. For long term parking, we recommend a public car park at the end of Eastbourne terrace which is 2 minutes drive, 8 mins walk.
